All About Ms. Vicinus
- I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2012. I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher since I was in the 5th grade myself, when I was deeply impacted by my 5th grade teacher! I think this is important because my dream to teach started when I was your/your student's age. It just goes to show you how a 5th grader's dream can become reality!
- I taught in Pitt County (Greenville, NC) for three years prior to moving to Raleigh.
- I am passionate about teaching and will do everything to instill in my students the same appreciation I have for learning.
- I am originally from Northern Virginia, about 20 minutes from Washington D.C. Although the D.C. metropolitan area offers many tourist attractions and exciting opportunities, I am very pleased to be in NC where southern hospitality is important and life isn't so fast-paced (I don't miss the traffic at all)! The majority of my family still lives in that area so when possible, I enjoy making weekend trips to visit my 9 nieces and nephews! I am from a blended family and can appreciate how all families have unique dynamics. I believe this is something that should be celebrated!
- I will forever be a Pirate and love going to ECU football games! I not only enjoy watching games, I love playing games! I hope my students enjoy games as much as I do, because we will be playing many educational games throughout the school year!
- This is my fifth year teaching at Jeffreys Grove Elementary, and I am proud to be an Eagle!
